Nicholette Lambert, BECLactation Consultant Specializing in Special Needs & NICU
Nicholette Lambert’s life changed forever in February 2010 when her first baby was born with an undetected L4-L5 myelomeningocele. Like so many other things, breastfeeding her son CJ required some adaptations. With no family or friends to help with breastfeeding and a lactation consultant who had little knowledge of breastfeeding a baby with spina bifida, she had to figure out a lot on her own—fast.
After hearing other mothers’ frustrations about breastfeeding classes that left them unprepared, she earned her breastfeeding educator certification and developed a curriculum that would meet the needs of real mothers and babies by giving them a toolbox of solutions and strategies to stop breastfeeding problems before they start. She teaches online so women everywhere can have access to the best breastfeeding support any time they need it.
Between her three children, she has seven years of breastfeeding experience through a variety of situations including the NICU, pregnancy, colic and low milk supply. She has doubled the amount of information available on breastfeeding babies with spina bifida through her research and writing on this topic. She has advised dozens of mothers from different backgrounds on many different issues with breastfeeding. She loves reading, baking healthy cookies and going on adventures with her husband, sons and daughter.
